THE SHORT STORY
Despite a hard-fought effort, Queens University could not overcome Governors efficiency, falling 66-57 on the road Thursday night at F&M Bank Arena. Queens made several pushes throughout the game but couldn't capitalize late, allowing Austin Peay to pull away in the final minutes. With the loss the Royals dropped to 8-18 overall and 2-13 in ASUN play, while the Governors improved to 11-5 and 6-9 in league play.

Jordyn Weaver led the Royals with a game-high 24 points on 8-17 shooting, while also grabbing seven rebounds and recording two steals.

Jermany Mapp was a key contributor from beyond the arc, knocking down 4 of 8 three pointers to finish with 14 points. Mapp also tallied four assists and one steal.

Kemia Ward provided a solid presence in the paint, finishing with 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting while adding a block.
NOTABLE MOMENTS
Queens had several key moments throughout the game, keeping them within striking distance. In the second quarter, a 5-0 run, highlighted by a second-chance basket from
Jordyn Weaver and a three-pointer from
Ana Barreto, helped cut Austin Peay's lead to four at halftime.
The Royals carried that momentum into the third quarter, using a 7-0 surge led by
Kemia Ward's inside scoring and a three from
Jermany Mapp to pull within three points.
In the fourth quarter, Weaver sparked a late rally, scoring consecutive baskets, including a fastbreak layup off a steal, cutting the deficit to six. Mapp followed with a deep three-pointer to keep Queens within reach, but Austin Peay responded with strong defense and timely free throws to close out the 66-57 victory.

Jordyn Weaver recorded her third 20-plus point performance of the season, finishing with 24 against Austin Peay. She previously scored 22 points against Johnson & Wales and posted a season-high 26 points in a road game at Gardner-Webb.
