Queens and Appalachian State Adjust Weekend Series Due to Weather

HICKORY, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte baseball team has announced a change to their opening weekend series against Appalachian State due to inclement weather in the Hickory area. The Saturday afternoon game has been postponed due to rain, and the remainder of the weekend series updates can be found below.

Queens and Appalachian State will move the series down the road to Durham Field on the campus of Lenoir Rhyne University and play a doubleheader on Sunday, February 16th. The first pitch of game one will be scheduled for 12:00 p.m. with game two following approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Admission is free to both games and outside food and beverage will be allowed with the concessions being closed (alcohol is prohibited). Parking is available at the Moretz Stadium Lot adjacent to Durham Field. Fans can follow the live stats here.

The Royals took down the Mountaineers on Friday afternoon on the opening day of college baseball. Queens sparked a late rally plating four runs in the seventh inning to storm from behind and pick up their first Opening Day win in Division 1. The Queens pitching staff was electric striking out 16 Mountaineers, the most in a single game in Division 1.
