CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Behind an impressive two-assist night from freshman Vitor Baptistelli, the Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team (5-4-2 overall, 0-0-2 ASUN) took down the USC Upstate Spartans (4-7-1 overall, 2-1 Big South) in their first-ever meeting on Tuesday night. The victory improved the Royals record against Big South opponents to 9-3-1 all-time, and 4-0 this season.

SCORING SUMMARY
12' – Queens – Michel Feldman (Assist Vitor Baptistelli)
27' – Queens – Oliver Kneer (Assist Vitor Baptistelli)
71' – USC Upstate – Josh Zawlocki (Assist Oscar Kelly)

TURNING POINT
In their first match of the new month on their home turf, the Royals attack used an early surge to stun the Spartans. In the 12th minute, rookie Vitor Baptistelli sent a beautiful touch between the Spartans backline and found captain Michel Feldman in stride on the right side of the box. The senior attacker made one touch to the inside and buried his second goal of the season to give the Royals an early advantage. Just 15 minutes later, Baptistelli went back to work setting up the attack with a ball to Oliver Kneer at the top of the box. Kneer beat the Spartans defense and ripped a shot to the near corner to extend the Royals early lead. After holding the visitors scoreless through 70 minutes, the Spartans cut into the deficit. Oscar Kelly sent a ball into the box and found the head of Josh Zawlocki, who put away the Spartans only goal.
