CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team (3-11) hosted Belmont Abbey College (9-5) this evening, defeating the Crusaders 4-1 at Bessant Field.
INSIDE THE MATCH
Enya Kemp put the Royals in front 1-0 with a goal less than five minutes into the match. She then scored her second of the game early in the second quarter to put Queens in front 2-0. The Crusaders answered with a goal in the 19
th minute to give the match a 2-1 score at the half.
The Royals'
Sydney Smith scored an unassisted goal in the 36
th minute of the third period to put the Royals back in the lead by two points, 3-1.
Jarmilla Richter followed, scoring on a penalty stroke to give the home team some assurance as time ticked off the clock.
