CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team (2-10) returned home to Bessant Field to host the Richmond Spiders (8-5) this afternoon, falling 3-0 in the second meeting between the pair.
INSIDE THE MATCH
The Royals were able to hold the Spiders scoreless in the opening quarter of action, limiting Richmond to just one shot. However, Clara Larripa broke through in the 19
th minute to put the visitors on top 1-0.
The Spiders held their one-goal lead until the third quarter when they were able to extend the gap, adding two more points to the board to secure the win.
KEY STATS & NOTES
- Enya Kemp led Queens with three shots, putting two shots on goal. Hensley Miller and Alana Shimp also recorded shots on goal.
- Madison Destefano finished with four saves, while Tea Burns notched one defensive save.
- Queens was outshot 11-7 as the Spiders put eight shots on goal to the Royals' four.
- Richmond edged the Royals in penalty corners, 5-4.
