THE SHORT STORY
The Queens University Royals battled until the final whistle but ultimately fell short against Bellarmine in a thrilling ASUN women's basketball match up inside Curry Arena, ending 71-67. The Royals dropped to 6-8 overall and 0-3 in ASUN play, while the Knights improved to 11-5 and 2-1 in league play.

Ana Barreto led Queens with 19 points, shooting an efficient 7-for-9 from the field and 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. Barreto has now reached double figures in ten games this season.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
In the final quarter, Queens came within a point of Bellarmine's lead multiple times. A crucial stretch began with a
Kemia Ward rebound and second-chance points to trim the gap to three.
Jermany Mapp followed with a layup to make it 51-50. With under two minutes remaining, Queens managed to briefly take a one-point lead on
Ana Barreto layup, igniting the home crowd. An
Aylesha Wade three-pointer pushed the Queens lead to four with one minute left in regulation. A few possessions later, a Royals turnover allowed Bellarmine to hit a tough mid-range jumper to cut the lead to one. With 17 seconds left to play, Bellarmine capitalized on another Queens miscue, scoring on a three-point play to reclaim a two-point advantage.

- Queens excelled from the free-throw line, going 29-of-40. The Royals converted on 12-of-14 (85.7%) in the fourth quarter.
