CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team will look to get back on track in conference play as the league's hottest team from Jacksonville University comes to Curry Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN Plus. The Dolphins enter Saturday afternoon on a six-game winning streak as the two programs battle for positioning at the top of the league standings.

THE MATCHUP
Queens and Jacksonville are set to meet for the fourth time since the Royals joined the ASUN in 2022. Jacksonville holds a 2-1 advantage over the Royals, but Queens won their last meeting in the Queen City 74-65. The series has been a tale of two destinations as the home team has emerged victorious in all three games. In their last meeting,
Jaxon Pollard turned in a physical double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. The ASUN Preseason Player of the Year Robert McCray tallied 22 points while grabbing five boards and dishing out three assists.
SCOUTING THE ROYALS (12-8 overall, 5-2 ASUN)
- Queens enters Saturday afternoon coming off their second straight loss in ASUN play after starting the league slate 5-0. The Royals fell 90-81 on Thursday night to North Florida as a career-high 31 points from freshman Josh Harris carried the visitors to victory. Freshman Yoav Berman was efficient pouring in a season-high 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting while Leo Colimerio added 22 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
- Despite the two-game losing skid, the Royals remain tied for second in the ASUN standings with Lipscomb and North Alabama. Jacksonville and FGCU are knotted at the top at 6-1 in league action.
- Queens has defended their den in Division 1 holding a 25-10 record. This season, Queens is 6-2 inside Curry Arena
- Against North Florida, Jaxon Pollard and Maban Jabriel brought down 10+ rebounds marking the second game this season in which two Royals pulled down double-digit boards in the same game.
- Since conference play started, the Royals have been one of the league's top offenses ranking fourth in scoring with 79.0 points per game. Queens has capitalized from the free throw line sinking 76 percent of their free attempts, the third-best mark in the ASUN through seven games.
- Winning the battle on the boards has been a key to success for the Royals as they lead the league in rebounding and offensive boards in conference play. The Royals are 11-2 on the year when outrebounding their opponent.
- Queens is 9-3 on the season when dishing out 15+ assists. The Royals are averaging 16.7 dimes per game in conference play which leads the league. Sophomore Bryce Cash has facilitated the offense all season in his first year at the point with 4.3 assists per game which is fifth most in the league.
- As a team, Queens ranks tied for 15th in the nation averaging 5.4 blocks per game. The mark leads the ASUN in part to 7-0 Malcolm Wilson's presence in the paint. The center has led the nation all season in blocked shots and became the fourth player in NCAA Division 1 men's basketball since 2014 to block 34+ shots before December 1st.
- Depth has been a key to success early for the Royals as they rank 15th in the country, and first in the ASUN in bench scoring with 32.7 points per game.
- Closing out games has been a strength for Queens this season as the Royals are 12-0 when leading with five minutes to go.
- Chris Ashby sits fourth all-time in career three-pointers made as a Royal. The senior is looking to become the fourth player in school history to hit 100+ threes in a single season as he sits at 63.
- Graduate student Leo Colimerio was named the CollegeInsider Lute Olson National Player of the Week, Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week, and ASUN Player of the Week earlier this season. The Sao Paulo, Brazil native leads the Royals in scoring. In league play, Colimerio is averaging 17.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.
- Freshmen Yoav Berman and Maban Jabriel have made incredible strides this season making an appearance in all 20 games. Berman is pouring in 7.9 points per game while grabbing 3.3 rebounds per contest. Jabriel is adding 5.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
- Senior Jaxon Pollard has been a force on the block in conference play. The Cedar Hills native is scoring 7.6 points and grabbing 5.1 rebounds per game.
- Queens was picked to finish ninth in the ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll. Since joining the league in 2022, the Royals have finished at least two positions higher than projected and claimed their spot in back-to-back ASUN Tournaments.
SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS (12-7 overall, 6-1 ASUN)
- Jacksonville enters Saturday afternoon 12-7 overall and 6-1 in ASUN play. The Dolphins are coming off a 79-62 victory at West Georgia on Thursday night.
- Jacksonville is riding a six-game winning streak heading into the weekend after dropping the ASUN opener. In league play, the Dolphins opponents are a combined 18-31 as they are set to square off against two of the top teams in the league in Queens and FGCU.
- The Dolphins play a physical brand of basketball as they rank sixth in the league in team rebounds, including 12.7 offensive boards which is second-best in the ASUN. Jacksonville is outrebounding opponents by 3.4 per game which leads the league.
- Jacksonville's defense forces 14.0 turnovers per game which is good to 62nd in the country. The ability to force turnovers keeps opponents from scoring as they allow 69.9 points per game which is the third-best scoring defense in the ASUN.
- While the Dolphins don't take a lot of three-pointers, they are efficient when they do knocking down 35-percent of their attempts which is third in the conference.
- The ASUN Preseason Player of the Year Robert McCray V leads the Dolphins with 16.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. The Wake Forest transfer has reached double figures in all six conference games, including a season-high 22 points against Lipscomb.
- Jordan Mincy is in his fourth season at the helm of the Dolphins program. Under his direction, Jacksonville is 62-50 and coming off a semifinals appearance in the ASUN Tournament last season.
- Jacksonville was picked to finish fifth in the ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll.
