Queens Drops Thursday Night Tilt with North Florida Despite Season-High 22 Points from Yoav Berman

THE SHORT STORY
Despite a season-high 22 points from freshman Yoav Berman, the Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team dropped a Thursday night ASUN battle with North Florida. The visiting Ospreys capitalized on 16 turnovers by the Royals with 20 points while finding their groove in the paint with 50 points.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Graduate student Leo Colimerio turned in double figures for the 13th game this season with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting. The Sao Paulo, Brazil native added seven rebounds and six assists to his night.
-Freshman Yoav Berman was efficient from the floor totaling a season-high 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting. Berman also brought down four rebounds across 24 minutes of work.
-Senior Jaxon Pollard was dominant off the bench dropping nine points while bringing down 11 rebounds, including a career-high nine on the offensive glass across 13 minutes of work.
-Rookie Maban Jabriel matched his season-high with 27 minutes of work and posted seven points and 10 rebounds. Jabriel brought down double-digit boards for the second time in his young career.
-Malcolm Wilson tallied six points, three rebounds, and five blocked shots in his 20th start of the season.
-Freshman Josh Harris carried the Ospreys offense with a career-high 31 points while adding nine rebounds and two assists.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
-The opening 12 minutes saw a tightly contested game with five ties and four lead changes as neither offense managed to gain a lead higher than four. Leo Colimerio led the offense with 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting during that span while freshman Josh Harris totaled 14 points and six boards for the Ospreys.
-Leading 25-24 with 6:39 remaining in the first half, the Royals ripped off a quick 5-0 run which was capped off by a Yoav Berman three-pointer to force an Ospreys timeout.
-North Florida found their groove to close out the half sparking a 15-0 run over three minutes to grab the largest lead of the game at nine.
-Trailing by four with 15:04 remaining in the game, the Royals sparked a 13-5 surge capped off by a step-back three-pointer from Yoav Berman to gain a 65-61 lead forcing a North Florida timeout.
-Similar to the closing minutes of the first half, North Florida found their rhythm as the game winded down putting together a 12-0 run and capitalizing on three turnovers by the Royals.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-With the victory, the Ospreys improved to 5-1 all-time against the Royals, and 4-0 in Division 1.
-Queens fell to 11-2 this season when outrebounding their opponents. The Royals won the battle on the boards 43-32 but weren't able to overcome a 48-percent shooting clip from the visitors.
-Seven-foot center Malcolm Wilson swatted five shots on the night marking his eighth game this season to do so. Wilson continues to lead the nation in blocked shots through 20 games.
-The Royals dropped to 8-1 this season when scoring 80 or more points.

NEXT UP
Queens will continue their homestand on Saturday, January 25th when they welcome Jacksonville University. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN Plus. Saturday will mark the fourth all-time meeting between the Royals and Dolphins with Jacksonville holding a 2-1 advantage. The series has been a tale of two cities as the home team is unbeaten.
