Royals Fall to Jacksonville on Saturday Afternoon Despite Career-High from Malcolm Wilson

THE SHORT STORY
The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team dropped their third straight ASUN battle on Saturday afternoon despite a career-high from Malcolm Wilson. The visiting Dolphins shot an efficient 48 percent from the field and won the battle on the glass 44-34 en route to their seventh straight win.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Seven-foot center Malcolm Wilson turned in a career-high 14 points while adding four rebounds and five blocks across 23 minutes of work.
-Jaxon Pollard turned in another physical afternoon with 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds, including three on the offensive glass.
-Graduate student Leo Colimerio turned in 10 points, three rebounds, and six assists across 26 minutes.
-Charlotte native Bryce Cash added nine points while dishing out three assists.
-Freshman Yoav Berman reached double figures for the second straight game with 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting.
-Coming off the bench, junior Nasir Mann totaled eight points and two boards over nine minutes of work.
-ASUN Preseason Player of the Year Robert McCray V led all scorers with 24 points while adding five rebounds and four assists.
-Queens struggled to connect from the perimeter shooting 6-for-26 which tied for the second lowest mark this season.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Jacksonville opened up the afternoon by connecting on 70 percent of their attempts as they took a 23-14 lead into the second media break.
-Trailing 30-18 with 9:56 remaining in the first half, the Royals put together a 8-0 run to cut the deficit to four.
-With the first half winding down, the Royals cashed in from the charity stripe with a 6-2 run to cut the deficit to seven heading into the break.
-Queens jumped on the visiting Dolphins to start the second half with a 10-0 run to grab their first lead of the game since early in the first half.
-The early part of the second half was a battle seeing three ties and four lead changes. Jacksonville opened it up with an 11-0 run while the Royals suffered a three-minute scoring drought from the field during that span. The run was capped off by a Zimi Nwokeji three-pointer to force Queens into a timeout.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-Queens distributed the ball effectively dishing out 19 assists on the day. The mark was the 13th game this season that Queens has facilitated 15+ assists.
-The Royals forced 16 turnovers and converted those opportunities into 19 points.
-The nation's leading shot blocker Malcolm Wilson swatted five shots for the ninth game this season, and the second straight.
-The victory from the Dolphins improved their record in the all-time series to 3-1.

Queens will return to action on Wednesday, January 29th when the Royals welcome North Alabama to Curry Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN Plus. Fans can purchase their tickets in advance by visiting the Queens Athletics website. The Royals and Lions have met twice over the last three seasons with the series split. Queens took down the visitors in Charlotte in their first season as a member of the ASUN, 107-78.
