THE SHORT STORY

BY THE NUMBERS
-Senior Chris Ashby led the Royals offense with 14 points across 30 minutes of work.
-Franklinton native Kalib Mathews packed the stat sheet with five points, two rebounds, three assists, and a block.

-Keeshawn Kellman led all scorers with 21 points while adding five rebounds for the Eagles.
-FGCU connected all afternoon offensively shooting 43 percent from the field.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
-FGCU jumped out to an early advantage 12-11 heading into the first media break as Keeshawn Kellman recorded nine quick points. The Eagles shot 5-of-8 during that span, but a 9-0 run from the Royals kept the Eagles at bay.
-The Eagles ripped off a lengthy 15-2 run in the first half and capitalized on a two-minute scoring drought from Queens to force a timeout from the Royals.
-Trailing 52-32 with 9:51 remaining in the game, the Royals strung together a 9-0 run to cut the deficit to nine heading into the final media timeout. During that run, the Royals got to the charity stripe and converted 5-of-6 attempts.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

-The 26-percent shooting clip in the first half was the second-lowest mark in a single half by the Royals this season.
