Connor Moriarty Joins Queens Softball Staff

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Queens University of Charlotte is excited to announce the addition of Connor Moriarty as a new assistant softball coach for the Royals. With an extensive coaching background and a passion for developing athletes both on and off the field, Moriarty brings invaluable experience and leadership to the program as it continues to strengthen its competitive presence in the Atlantic Sun.

Moriarty joins Queens after a successful stint as the Head Softball Coach at D'Youville University in Buffalo, N.Y., where he played a pivotal role in the school's transition to NCAA Division II. In his tenure, he exceeded recruiting goals, securing 13 new recruits for the 2024-25 season, and expanded the team's recruiting network to a national scale. His ability to build a competitive team was further evidenced by two of his athletes earning All-Conference honors.

Before D'Youville, Moriarty led Monroe College's softball program, where he spearheaded a dramatic turnaround, achieving a 24-win improvement and guiding the team to a runner-up finish in the NJCAA Region X tournament. Under his leadership, the team earned numerous accolades, including seven Academic All-American honors and one NJCAA All-American award. His efforts at Monroe culminated in him being recognized as part of the 2022 NFCA NJCAA/D3 National Coaching Staff of the Year.

"I'm so grateful for the opportunity to join the softball program here at Queens," Moriarty said. "The institution has made significant strides in the transition to Division I and made it an easy decision to be a part of it. Coach Armstrong and the coaching staff are not only great coaches, but even better people. I'm excited to help enhance the program and see the future success for our student-athletes."

Moriarty's background in athletic program management also includes his time as Assistant Director of Athletics at Monroe College-Bronx, where he oversaw compliance, internal operations, and student-athlete success across various sports.

Moriarty holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Pace University.
