CHARLOTTE, N.C. — From the month of December, Queens Athletics is proud to recognize Brenae Jones Grant of women's basketball and Nasir Mann of men's basketball as the FieldTurf Royals of the Month, honoring their standout performances and impact for the Royals during the holiday stretch.
Brenae Jones-Grant – Women's Basketball
Sophomore forward Brenae Jones Grant delivered an elite month of December, emerging as one of the most efficient players in the nation. She averaged 19.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 63.9 percent from the field and 53.3 percent from three over three contests. Her efficiency ranked as high as ninth nationally in field goal percentage, while she led the ASUN in both field goal percentage and rebounds for the month.
Jones Grant opened December with a dominant 27-point, 11-rebound performance at Western Carolina before following with 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting against Carolina. Her consistent production and efficiency continued to anchor the Royals on both ends of the floor.
Nasir Mann – Men's Basketball
Nasir Mann earned December Royals of the Month honors after leading Queens through a challenging non-conference slate that included road contests at Wake Forest, No. 14 Arkansas, and Auburn. Mann averaged 16.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per game as the Royals posted a 2–3 record during the month.
The junior guard reached double figures in four of five games, highlighted by a career-high 23-point performance in Queens' win over South Carolina State. His steady scoring and all-around contributions continued to establish him as a reliable presence against high-level competition.
Women's Soccer: Royals Service Award
For the second month in a row, Queens women's soccer has earned the Royals Service Award, driven by the program's strong engagement and measurable community impact.
The Royals recorded a strong Team Impact Score of 45, highlighting their consistent engagement in service initiatives throughout the month. The team logged 33 validated volunteer hours across nine service commitments, generating an estimated $1,148.07 in economic impact within the community. Much of the Royals' outreach was centered around their top organization, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Animal Care & Control, continuing one of Queens' most active community partnerships.
