Late Goal from Feldman Sends the Royals Past Radford on Tuesday Night

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team took down Radford on Tuesday night behind a late 84th minute game-winner from Michel Feldman. In the victory, senior Caleb Woodard booted home his first career goal in his first career start.

TURNING POINT
With the score tied 1-1 and the clock inching closer to the final horn, the Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team capitalized on one final set-piece opportunity. Caio Brandao toed up the set piece and sent a beautiful touch into the box finding the diving head of Michel Feldman who put away the game-winner into the bottom right corner of the net. The game-winner was the fourth of Feldman's career.

  • Making his first career start for the Royals, senior Caleb Woodard netted his first career goal. The Wilmington, North Carolina native turned in a career-high 90-minute performance.
  • Veteran forward Michel Feldman netted his ninth career goal, and second of the season. Feldman posted a pair of shots on goal across 47 minutes of work.
  • Freshman Leontios Zacharia recorded his first collegiate assist on the 34th minute goal. Zacharia earned his second straight start and gave the Royals 90 minutes of effort while adding a shot.

  • Freshman goalkeeper Matheus Rhormens made his first career start in goal and picked up the victory. The Sao Paulo, Brazil native faced 21 shots and picked up five saves.
  • Rookie Joshua Petty made his first collegiate appearance and turned in a pair of shots within 30 minutes.
  • Five Royals, including Matheus Rhormens, Samuel Idinge, Cole Pumpian, Leontios Zacharia, and Caleb Woodard turned in complete games.
  • Ciro Bourlot Jaeggi notched his third multi-shot outing of the season with a two-shot night.
  • With the win, the Royals evened the all-time series with the Highlanders at 1-1.

Queens will return home and gear up for their Atlantic Sun opener as the Royals will welcome the reigning league champions from Lipscomb on Saturday, September 21st.
