Second Half Spark Sends Wofford Past Queens in Season Opener

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Despite taking a 1-0 lead into the halftime break, the Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team dropped the season opener Thursday night as Wofford netted a pair of second-half goals to storm from behind.

TURNING POINT
Trailing 1-0 in the 54th minute, the visiting Terriers netted their first goal of the season as Bryce Peacock found the bottom left corner of the net off a Jakob Anderson corner piece. The two squads threatened offensively over the next 27 minutes before another corner kick opportunity set up the game-winner. Villads Landsperg sent a ball into the box and found Declan Mettee for his first goal of the season, and the eventual game-winner.

  • Senior defender Samuel Idinge netted his fourth career goal in the 15th minute of the match. The St. Petersburg, Florida native turned in a complete game on the backline.
