The Short Story: The Queens University of Charlotte baseball team dropped a Tuesday tilt with High Point despite a multi-hit performance from rookie Evan Zapp.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After both offenses were retired through the first two frames, the visiting Panthers struck first in the top of the third on a solo home run to left field from Sean McGee. High Point would threaten later in the inning with a two-out double, but Blake Efird picked up his third strikeout to escape the jam.
-The visitors added to their lead in the top of the fourth inning with a six-run inning. The Panthers roped seven hits, including an RBI double from Konni Durschlag.
-High Point tacked onto their lead for the third straight inning with a three-spot in the fifth. Sean McGee drove in a run with a sacrifice fly before Cael Chatham laced a two-run single through the right side to give the Panthers a 10-0 lead.
-After being held scoreless for the first five innings, the Royals broke through in the sixth as Keanu Spenser blasted a leadoff home run to left center.
-High Point returned the favor in the top of the seventh inning when Adam Stuart belted a 3-2 pitch over the left field fence to regain a 12-1 advantage.
-Queens would not go down lightly as the Royals plated three runs on two hits in the bottom of the seventh inning. With a runner on first and one out, Evan Zapp roped a double down the right-field line to put runners in scoring position. Tyler Peters followed it up with a two-run triple that hit the top of the fence in right-center. A ground out from Keanu Spenser would plate Peters to cut the deficit to 12-4.
-The visitors would add two runs over the final two innings to cap off the scoring and secure the 14-4 win..
