CLEVELAND – The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team (2-8, 1-5) fell by a score of 12-7 to Cleveland State (7-5, 4-2) on the road this afternoon. 
  
HOW IT HAPPENED 
The Vikings scored three unanswered goals in the opening period to claim control of the game early. However, the Royals would respond by outscoring Cleveland State, 3-2 in the second period to close the gap to two, 5-3 at the half.
 
Cleveland State would increase the margin to four with 8:25 on the clock on the third before the two teams began trading goals for the remainder of the game.
  
KEY STATS & NOTES 

• Brendan Nace led the Royals recording his first hat trick of the season.
• Jack Royer and Lawson Jones each added two goals.
• Wesley Wheat took today's loss in the net after tallying 13 saves.
• Parker Yearego led the Vikings with three goals while goalkeeper Connor Kernan totaled 19 saves.
• Queens was outshot 41-39, edging the Vikings in shots on goal, 26-25.
• The Royals lost the battle for ground balls, 40-26, and won 9-of-21 face offs. Grant Isika won all nine face offs and totaled six ground balls and one assist.
