CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Head coach
Shannon Neely Noel and the Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team welcome four new players to the Queen City to round out the 2024 incoming freshman class.
"We are excited to announce four editions to our 2024 freshman class," said head coach Shannon Neely Noel "They add to an already exceptional group that has a passion for the game and for Queens!"
Ansleigh Prell
Georgia native Ansleigh Prell succeeds on and off the field. She graduated from North Oconee High School, was named All-region in her sophomore and junior years, and made the 2023 ODP 06 national team. Ansleigh won the 2021 4A state championship, was a 2022 semifinalist, and reached the 2023 finals in soccer. Ansleigh excelled with Oconee Futbol Club, winning the USYS State Cup in both her junior and senior years and other honors. Success and determination make her a soccer powerhouse.
Mika Katz
Mika Katz, from Tel Aviv, excelled at The Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium. Her team won the Under 19 National Championship for the first time. Katz won the championship in the UEFA Nation's League Tournament with the Under 19 Israeli National Team. Her participation in the European Championship Qualifiers and Senior National Team Pool proves her potential and standing as a top athlete on both national and international stages. Katz's soccer accomplishments demonstrate her passion, skill, and leadership.
Mason Riley
Warrenton, VA, Fauquier High School student Mason Riley is a standout athlete with several accomplishments. Her goalkeeping record for NPSC United 06 girls club is exceptional, bringing her team to the top of Virginia EDP 06 and winning renowned events like Baltimore Mania, WAGS, OBGC, Visit Raleigh, and Hunt Country Classic. All Region and All District awards highlight her talent and contributions to her team's success, while her leadership as captain and inclusion in ODP State and EDP State teams reinforce her image as a powerful field player.
Avery Miller
Avery Miller, a Columbus, Ohio, Upper Arlington High School athlete, excels. Miller excels intellectually and athletically as an OCC Scholar Athlete. Upper Arlington's OCC Central League and District Championships and Regional Runner-Up status were due to her contributions. Miller leads well as Team Captain in 2024. Miller also played for Sporting Columbus, which finished 2nd in the ECNL RL Great River League and playoffs in 2023. Avery Miller is a force on and off the field with her leadership and accomplishments.
"This class will help strengthen the work our returning group is putting in this spring," continued Neely Noel. "They are full of personality on and off the field and I know they are eager to get here and make an impact."
