THE SHORT STORY: The Queens University of Charlotte Men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 sweep over Austin Peay State. The Royals are now on a four-game winning streak and are 2-0 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Queens took the doubles point to start the match after a hard fought battle in the top two doubles. Laurenz Blickwede and Filippo Verdese won No. 3 doubles quickly with a 6-3 mark but the next doubles win would not come so easy for the Royals. Ram Mude and Win Steveker won No. 1 doubles 7-6 with a 16-14 tiebreaker.
-Connor Enslin won the first singles point in No. 4 singles with a 6-1 win in set 1 and a 6-3 win in set 2.
-Laurenz Blickwede got the job done at the top line with a 6-0 win in the first set and a 6-2 win in the second.
-Win Steveker, Ram Mude, and Filippo Verdese each won their singles matches 6-3 in both sets.
-Arenui Luethi had the toughest battle of the day in No.3 singles. The freshman won in both set with a 7-5 mark
NEXT UP
The Royals are back in action at home on Wednesday, March 20th against Belmont Abbey. There will be two matches set to begin at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
