THE SHORT STORY
The Queens University women's basketball team faced a challenging test on the road against #16 University of Kentucky on Monday night. Despite their effort, the Royals fell 87-45 in Historic Memorial Coliseum. The Royals now drop to 5-4 overall, while the Wildcats improved to 8-1 on the season.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Jordyn Weaver led the Royals with 11 points, adding five rebounds and was efficient from the free-throw line (5-of-6).
- Ana Barreto chipped in with 10 points, including two three-pointers, and contributed defensively with a steal and a block.
- Tamar Kopilevech stood out with a season-high 29 minutes, recording six rebounds, three assists, and three steals, contributing on both ends of the court.
- Jermany Mapp and Dayuna Colvin each added five points off the bench.
- Defensively, the Royals managed to force 15 turnovers from Kentucky and recorded seven steals.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
Queens got off to a slow start, scoring just nine points in each of the first two quarters. Kentucky capitalized on their home-court advantage and efficient shooting, building a commanding 52-18 halftime lead. Kentucky's Georgia Amoore led the Wildcats with a strong first half, contributing 14 points, including two three-pointers. Queens found brief offensive momentum in the fourth quarter, scoring a game-high 16 points in the final frame.

- Queens collected 34 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive end.
- Kentucky's size advantage limited Queens to just two second-chance points, compared to the Wildcats' 13.
- The Royals bench provided 19 points.

- Kentucky's Amelia Hassett's scored her 1,000 point in the win and led all players with 19 points.

Queens returns to Curry Arena for a Saturday 2 p.m. contest against Western Carolina. The Royals have dropped both meetings against the Catamounts in the series.
