A Dominant Team Performance Leads Queens Over Johnson & Wales

THE SHORT STORY
The Royals showcased their depth and offensive firepower to cruise to a commanding 108-55 victory over Johnson & Wales University (Charlotte). For the first time since the 2012-2013 season, Queens has won four straight games. The Royals improved their record to 5-3, delivering their highest-scoring game of the season.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore Kaitlyn Adams led the way with a career-high 17 points on near-perfect 7-of-8 shooting, and two steals.  
- Aylesha Wade was a catalyst on both ends, contributing a season-high 14 points, six assists, and three steals while shooting 6-of-8 from the field.
- Freshman guard Magda Freire added career-high 12 points in just 10 minutes, shooting 5-of-7 and hitting two three-pointers.
- Jordyn Weaver showcased her all-around game with 11 points, six rebounds, and five assists while shooting 57 percent from the field. Weaver's double-figure scoring streak extends to eight consecutive games.
- Ana Barreto had a strong showing, scoring 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. The Lisbon, Portugal native also contributed two steals and a block in 15 minutes played.
- Kemia Ward was a force down low, tallying 10 points, six rebounds, and a season-high four blocks in just 17 minutes.
- The Royals bench contributed significantly, scoring 50 points and maintaining energy throughout the game.
- Jermany Mapp was efficient and active off the bench, scoring six points on 3-of-6 shooting, while also pulling down four rebounds.
- Guard Dayuna Colvin added seven points on 3-of-5 shooting, contributing defensively with two steals.
- Freshman Kamara Mills made her six appearance of the season, tallying a team high four steals and seven points on a season high 20 minutes of action.
- Tiziana Huici added nine points on 4-6 shooting, while Tamar Kopilevech hauled in four rebounds and chipped in four points. Alyssa Lewis contributed two rebounds and a steal in 13 minutes.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
Queens displayed dominance early, outscoring the Wildcats 21-14 in the first quarter and erupting for a 39-point second quarter. By halftime, the Royals led 60-26, shooting an impressive 70.8 percent in the second quarter. Queens extended their lead throughout the second half, with the Royals building their largest lead in the fourth quarter, stretching the gap to 53 points at the 1:14 mark.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Royals set a new Division I single game program record with 108 points. Queens broke last season's record of 101 points, which was also set against Johnson & Wales. 
- Queens set another Division I record in a game with 31 assists. 10 players finished with at least one assist.
- Queens forced 32 turnovers, converting them into 40 points. The Royals picked up 17 steals, led by Kamara Mills and Aylesha Wade. 
- The Royals defense held Johnson & Wales to just two fast break points, while Queens capitalized for 33 in transition.

NEXT UP
The Royals make a trip to the Bluegrass State to take on the #14 Kentucky Wildcats. The match up pairs head coach Jen Brown with her former coach and mentor, Kentucky head coach Kenny Brooks. Brown, a longtime member of Brooks' staff joined the Virginia Tech Hokies in 2016, helping the Hokies to four consecutive 20-win seasons. Prior to Virginia Tech, Brown spent six seasons as an assistant for Brooks at James Madison, where Brown played from 2005-2008. Monday night's contest in the Historic Memorial Coliseum is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed on the SEC Network+.
