WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte track and field team opened their 2024-25 indoor track & field season today competing at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kickoff which took place at JDL Fast Track.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- Halle Perry raced to a fourth-place finish in the 400m recording a time of 1:00.17. Her time placed her fifth in the event on Queens' top 10 list.
- Gianna Mars took ninth place in the 800m with a time of 2:35.25.
- In the high jump, Heloise Louiset took third place with a mark of 1.59m (5'2.5"). Marissa Klamorick took fourth in the event with the same mark.
- Genysis Howard recorded a mark of 5.21m (17'1.25") in the long jump to take 8th place while Gisele Dulnuan-Kersey took 11th in the triple jump.
- In the shot put, Vesna Kljajevic recorded a throw of 14.65m (48'.75") to take second place. Lauren Christian followed in 7th place with a mark of 12.43m (40'9.5"). Kljajevic's mark moves her into second on Queens' top 10 list and was the best mark recorded in the ASUN in the event on Saturday.
- Braden Dunn moved up to seventh place on Queens 200m top 10 list after racing to a 12th-place finish in 23.70.
- Chandon Smith and Aiden Vanderbilt took fifth and eighth place in the 400m with times of 51.14 and 51.73, respectively.
- In the 400m seeded race, Trey Leggins took first place in 50.70. He now sits eighth on Queens' top 10 list for the event and his time was the best in the ASUN on Saturday.
- Uriah Aili raced to a third-place finish in the mile in a time of 4:14.10, the best time in the ASUN for the day.
- In the pole vault, Alexander Männel took second place with a mark of 4.40m (14'5.25"). His mark in the event was the best in the ASUN for the day as well. He also sits fourth on Queens' all-time list.
- Drake Lambert finished eighth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.80m (12'5.5")
- Amir Muhammad sits fourth on Queens' triple jump list after recorded a mark of 13.04m (42'9.5").
- In the shot put, Enrico Busato took ninth with a throw of 14.33m (47'.25"). He now sits fifth in the event on Queens' all-time list.

Queens will return to action after the winter break when they travel to Liberty for the Brant Tolsma Invitational on Jan. 24-25.
