The Short Story: The Wake Forest Demon Deacons picked up a 102-40 victory over visiting Queens University in a season opener women's basketball contest on Monday evening. With the win the Deacs move to 1-0 overall, while the Royals fall to 0-1 on the season. 
 
BY THE NUMBERS 
- Jordyn Weaver paced the Royals with 12 points, making both of her attempts from behind the arc. Weaver finished with 24 minutes of action. 
- Ana Barreto and Aylesha Wade both finished with seven points and two assists apiece in their first game for Queens. 
- Jermany Mapp contributed six points and five rebounds in 25 minutes of action. 
- Wake Forest outscored Queens 56-10 in points in the paint. 
- Every Queens player appeared in the loss. 

NOTABLE MOMENTS 
- Wake Forest jumped on the Royals early, by taking a 15-2 lead going into the first media timeout.  
- A 6-0 Queens scoring run to end the first half sent the Royals into the halftime break down 45-18. 
  
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE 
- Queens had 10 points off turnovers and only four fast break points. 
- Every Royals player attempted a shot in the contest. 
- The Royals finished 6-8 from the free throw line.
