LOUISVILLE, KY. — The Queens University of Charlotte volleyball team heads back on the road to begin ASUN conference play in Louisville, Ky. on Sept. 23 at 4:00 PM to take on Bellarmine in Knights Hall, with the goal of snagging their first conference win of the 2023 season.
LAST TIME OUT...
- On Tuesday, the Royals finished off the non-conference portion of the schedule with a 3-1 battle against Gardner-Webb — falling by scores of 25- 23, 17-25, 25-21, and 25-20. Four Royals had double-digit kills — Jordyn Johnson led the way with 12, Kayla McDuffie and Anna Grace Sparks each put up 11, and Alleigh Johnson grabbed 10.
-Jesse George earned 25 digs while Tilley Collins added another 11 off the bench.
- After Tuesday, George sits in second place in the ASUN rankings in total digs with 199.
- Kendall Buish led the Royals with 35 assists, her second match in a row with the number — and her fifth match tabbing 30 or more on the season.
- A. Johnson and McDuffie combined for 10 blocks (five each), marking a career high for A. Johnson and a season-high for McDuffie.
- As a team, the Royals sit IN first place in the ASUN in digs per set with 17.74, eighth in blocks per set with 1.62, and fifth in service aces per set with 1.70.

"Bellarmine is very versatile with their personnel, especially offensively. It will be important for us to communicate and recognize their personnel. They are very aggressive defensively. As rallies extend, it will be important for us to maintain our composure and contact control. Their team has played a tough preseason schedule in preparation for conference play and I expect it to be a great match."
SCOUTING BELLARMINE
- The Knights sit in last in the conference with an overall record of 2-11, earning their wins in straight sets over New Orleans and University of Southern Indiana at the beginning of the month (Sep. 1).
- As a team, the Knights have struggled with sweeps — the Knights have suffered eight straight sweep defeats on the year.
- on the Knights, Anna Lococo sits in eighth in the conference in digs per set with 3.98 while Maggie Hagan sits in ninth in blocks per set with .89. Natalie Bland leads the Bellarmine squad with 117 kills on the year.
