Flores Records Career-High Four Goals in Win over Hornets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team (7-4, 2-0) collected a 12-2 win over Delaware State (2-9, 0-2) this afternoon as the Hornets forfeited the game with 3:23 left in the second quarter during an extended rain delay.
 
How It Happened
Queens jumped on the Hornets early scoring two goals early while playing a man down due to a yellow card. Delaware State would get on the board at 10:21, but the Royals responded with three unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead into the second quarter.
 
The Hornets scored the first goal of the second quarter before Queens rattled off seven straight goals to take control of the game completely.

  • Alexi Flores recorded a career-high four goals and one assist in the win while Shannon Donovan added a hat trick and two assists. Kayleen Favreau totaled two goals and one assist while Elise Grissett tallied two goals. Maura O'Donoghue chipped in with one goal and one assist.
  • Grace Guglielmo tallied four draw controls, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers. O'Donoghue also totaled four draw controls.
  • Sharn Muffett earned today's win in goal for Queens after recording two saves.
