CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team (7-4, 2-0) collected a 12-2 win over Delaware State (2-9, 0-2) this afternoon as the Hornets forfeited the game with 3:23 left in the second quarter during an extended rain delay.
 
How It Happened
Queens jumped on the Hornets early scoring two goals early while playing a man down due to a yellow card. Delaware State would get on the board at 10:21, but the Royals responded with three unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead into the second quarter.
 
The Hornets scored the first goal of the second quarter before Queens rattled off seven straight goals to take control of the game completely.

Key Stats & Notes

• Alexi Flores recorded a career-high four goals and one assist in the win while Shannon Donovan added a hat trick and two assists. Kayleen Favreau totaled two goals and one assist while Elise Grissett tallied two goals. Maura O'Donoghue chipped in with one goal and one assist.
• Grace Guglielmo tallied four draw controls, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers. O'Donoghue also totaled four draw controls.
• Sharn Muffett earned today's win in goal for Queens after recording two saves.
• Kimaari Mondy totaled five saves for the Hornets in the loss.
• Rosella Nardi and Zahra Smith scored Delaware State's goals.
• Queens outshot Delaware State, 25-4, putting 17 shots on goal to the Hornets' four.
• Queens won 10-of-16 draw controls and totaled 11 ground balls to the Hornets' four.
