ATLANTA, GA – Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis player
Hanna Axelsson has been named to the ASUN All-Academic Team, as officially announced by the league on Wednesday afternoon. Axelsson became the first Royal in program history to achieve ASUN All-Academic honors.
"I'm very proud of Hanna," said Head Coach
Alex Leatu. "This is a big 'first' for our team as we complete this transitioning year. On our team, we place a high premium on excellence in the classroom as well as on the court. Hanna is a perfect representation of that. This is well deserved!"
Axelsson, a native of Lund, Sweden earned a 4.0 GPA while progressing towards her degree in Finance. On the courts this spring, Axelsson is 8-13 overall and 5-8 from the No. 3 court. In doubles action, the senior is 8-11 overall, and 6-5 with primary partner
Katsiaryna Tuliakova.
Axelsson will finish her career as an ASUN All-Academic and ITA All-Academic recipient. Additionally, Axelsson was named Third Team All-Conference in 2022.
