CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team (2-3) picked up its second straight win this afternoon defeating Stonehill (0-4) by a score of 18-12. The win is also the first NCAA Division I win for the program at home.
How It Happened
After falling behind 5-3 in the opening quarter, Queens would take control of the game scoring four straight goals in the second to move in front of the Skyhawks, 7-5. The Royals never relinquished control of the lead, taking a 9-7 advantage into the halftime break.
Queens strung together four unanswered goals in the third to increase the lead to four before the Skyhawks pulled back within two, but a fourth quarter that saw the Royals outscore Stonehill 5-1 would help solidify the Royals' second straight win this season.

- Senior midfielder Shannon Donovan recorded her 100th career goal in the win en route to tallying five points on a hat trick and two assists.
- Senior midfielder Stephanie Joyce led with a new single-game career-high four goals today.
- Senior midfielder Shannon Kingston and freshman attacker Kayleen Favreau added three points on two goals and one assist each.
- Sophomores Alexi Flores and Jordan Tandler each scored two goals.
- On the defensive end, Grace Guglielmo tallied three caused turnovers. She also helped controlled the possession for Queens recording eight draw controls. Maura O'Donoghue tallied four draw controls and three ground balls to go along with one goal.
- Junior goalkeeper Caroline Kraemer tallied today's win in goal after recording three saves in 30 minutes of action. Sharn Muffett totaled four saves in 30 minutes of action.
- Claire Smith took the loss in goal for Stonehill after recording five saves.
- Lydia Rudden led the Skyhawks with eight points on four goals and four assists.
- Queens outshot Stonehill, 37-23, putting 25 shots on goal compared to the Skyhawks' 19 shots on goal.
- Queens also won the battle for ground balls, 22-15, and the battle in the draw circle, 18-16.

"I'm so proud of the way my team fought today," head coach
Kelly McQuilkin stated. "This was our third game in eight days, and Stonehill came and battled us hard for 60 minutes. We had different units on the field step up at different times when we needed them today. We're having a lot of fun right now and really gelling as a team."
