CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team (4-3) has extended its win streak to four games after defeating Wofford College (2-5) this afternoon by a score of 16-7.
How It Happened
After getting off to a slow start offensively with just one goal in the opening quarter, Queens outscored the Terriers 7-4 in the second period to take an 8-5 lead at the half.
The Royals then dominated the third quarter scoring five unanswered goals to put Wofford on its heels for good.
Key Stats & Notes
- Favreau, a freshman attacker, led the Royals with a career-high five goals. Shannon Kingston followed with four points on three goals and an assist. Shannon Donovan and Alexi Flores each had three points on two goals and one assist while Caroline Pearce also tallied an assist
- Jillian Gironda led in assists with three. She finished with four points after also tallying a goal.
- On the defensive end, the Royals totaled 11 caused turnovers.
- Junior goalkeeper Caroline Kraemer picked up her fourth win of the season after totaling five saves in 29:16. Sharn Muffett was equally as impressive recording five saves in the 30:44.
- Aislinn Washburn took the loss in goal for the Terriers after totaling six goals in 30 minutes of action. Ella Smithers recorded seven saves in the second half.
- Addison Witkowski led Wofford with three goals.
- Queens outshot Wofford, 36-27, putting 29 shots on goal compared to the Eagles' 17 shots on goal.
- Queens also won the battle for ground balls, 22-14, while the Terriers took the battle in the circle winning 15 draw controls to the Royals' 12.

Kelly McQuilkin commented. "We had seven different goal scorers with 50% of our goals being assisted. Defense did a spectacular job limiting quality shots and getting balls back for our offense the entire game. I'm excited to take our team on the road this weekend up to Robert Morris."
