The Short Story:Â The Queens University of Charlotte baseball team won their first-ever Division I game at home defeatingFairleigh Dickinson.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Royals got the scoring started at the bottom of the first. Queens' base running and constant hitting gave them the 6-0 lead to close out the first inning.
-Fairleigh Dickinson scored their first run at the top of the second. The Royals would answer, however, with a run of their own to make the score 7-1.
-In the third inning, the Knights fought back as they brought in five runs to make the score 7-6. Queens would go on to tack on two more runs to expand the lead to 9-6.
- Fairleigh Dickinson would start the 4
th with a run to bring the lead back within two runs. The Knights would then follow with three straight outs to end the 4
th.
-The Royals would follow up with three straight outs to leave the Knights scoreless at the top of the 5
th.
-Fairleigh Dickinson tied the game up at 9-9 at the top of the 6
th inning. The Royals would then regain the lead courtesy of a two-RBI double from
Christian Maggio.
-The Knights took the lead at the top of the 7
th as they hit a single to left center to bring in the run. The Royals went into the 8
th inning trailing by one.
- The Royals would then bounce back defensively in the top of the 8
th as they forced the Knights into three straight outs. The Royals took back the lead at the bottom of the 8
th on a
Nick Melton RBI single to make the score 13-12.
- Queens would then go on to use their defense to beat the Knights at the top of the 9
th for their first win of the season.
