The Short Story: The Queens University of Charlotte baseball team dropped a midweek matinee with #23 South Carolina on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Gamecocks got the scoring started with a pair of runs in the first inning. A leadoff double would be followed by a walk and infield groundout which advanced both runners. An RBI groundout would bring home the first run before the second runner scored on a wild pitch.
-South Carolina would plate another pair in the second inning to extend their early lead. With two runners on and two outs, a double to right center would bring around both Gamecock runners.
-The nationally ranked Gamecocks would add on another pair in the third courtesy of a two-run home run to left field.
-South Carolina would open the game up in the seventh inning with a six-run frame on three hits. The Gamecocks used timely hits following free passes to put up another crooked number.
