Dominant Second Half Sends Royals Past League Leading Kennesaw State on the Road

The Short Story: The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team used a dominant second-half performance to take down the league-leading Kennesaw State Owls on Saturday afternoon.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Senior Kenny Dye poured in a game-high 24 points on a 50 percent shooting clip from the field and an 8-for-10 mark from the charity stripe.
-AJ McKee dropped 20 points on a 5-for-14 clip from the field.
-Junior Jay'Den Turner reached double figures with a 10-point and eight-rebound performance. Turner pulled down a season-high five offensive boards and swiped a career-high four steals.
-Chris Ashby reached double figures for the second straight game with a 12-point effort. Ashby went 4-for-7 from behind the arc as he has drilled a three-pointer in 25 of 29 games this season.
-Queens went 12-for-25 from behind the arc against the Owls. The Royals have made double-digit three-pointers in 15 games this season.
-Despite going 0-for-2 from the free throw line in the first half, the Royals finished the afternoon 19-for-28.
-Queens forced 15 Kennesaw State turnovers which were converted into 20 points.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Leading 10-9 in the first half, Kennesaw State would use a 10-3 run to increase their lead to the largest of the half at eight.
-Trailing 63-61 in the second half, the Royals would go on a 14-2 run to grab their largest lead of the game at 10.
-The game saw four lead changes and nine ties as both squads exchanged buckets.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-The physical league battle saw 49 combined fouls called and 52 free-throw attempts.
-The loss at home marked the first this season for Kennesaw State.
-Queens improved to 17-7 on the year when attempting more free throws.
