The Short Story: Senior Kenny Dye broke the Queens Men's Basketball scoring record with a career-high 34 points in the Royals 76-69 loss at Jacksonville State on Thursday night.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Kenny Dye led all scorers with a game-high 34 points on a 15-for-16 mark from the field.
-BJ McLaurin reached double figures for the 14th game this season pouring in 10 points while pulling down six rebounds.
-Sophomore Chris Ashby was on target from deep all night going 5-for-8 from behind the arc for 15 points.
-Jay'Den Turner was a beast on the glass for Queens bringing down 12 boards which was one shy of a season-high.
-Queens struggled offensively in the first half shooting 41 percent from the field and 15 percent from behind the arc. The ball started falling in the second stanza as the Royals shot 47 percent from the field and 40 percent from deep in the final 20 minutes.
-Jacksonville State won the battle on the boards 36-31.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Trailing 13-8 in the first half, Jacksonville State would go on a 9-0 run to grab a 17-13 lead which they never gave up the rest of the game.
-The Gamecocks would use a 19-3 run to open the second half and extend their lead to the largest of the game at 20.
-Queens would answer the JSU run with a 13-2 run to cut the deficit to nine.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-The 34-point performance from Dye was a Queens single-game record. Additionally, the 15 made field goals were a single-game program record.
-Despite leading the league in free throw attempts and free throws made, the Royals struggled from the charity stripe going 3-for-8 for a season-low 37 percent clip.
-Queens fell to 1-9 this season when being outrebounded by their opponent.

The Royals will wrap up the weekend on Saturday, February 18th at Kennesaw State. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcasted on ESPN Plus.
