The Short Story: The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team fell 69-63 to Western Carolina on Wednesday afternoon. The Royals drop to 5-7 while the Catamounts improve to 3-10 on the season.

• Tameia Shaw had an impressive outing in her first start of the season. The junior recorded a season-high 14 points and four rebounds on the day.
• Kinley Brown finished with her second double-digit game netting 14 points.

• The fourth quarter proved to be the Royals' best offensive quarter as the team scored 29 points and went on its largest scoring run 8-0.
• Tameia Shaw had a timely three-pointer that brought Queens within six points with two minutes left in the game.

• Queens continued their struggles behind the arc shooting 17 percent.
• The Royals outscored the Catamounts in the first and fourth quarters but fell off in the middle of the game only scoring 21 points in the second and third quarters.
