CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Nicole Gwynn continued her dominance for the Royals as she recorded a career-high 32 points on five three-pointers as Queens defeated NAIA Columbia College 83-62 inside the Levine Center on Sunday afternoon.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Nicole Gwynn recorded a career-high with 32 points as she made five three-pointers and added eight rebounds and three assists.
- Tameia Shaw had a strong game off the bench as she set a career-high with nine points and four rebounds as she also added three assists.
- Jordyn Weaver finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. This was her second double-double of the season and seventh of her career. Weaver also finished with a career-high four steals.
- Kaitlyn Adams recorded six points off the bench, which is the second-highest amount of points she has scored in a game this season.
NOTABLE MOMENTS
- The Royals began the second quarter with two consecutive three-pointers from Nicole Gwynn, giving her 12 early points and extending the Royals' lead to 26-15. In the second quarter, Gwynn recorded 11 points and nailed three 3-pointers as the Royals led the Koalas 40-30 at the halftime break
- After struggling to maintain control of the game, the Royals went on a 10-0 run early in the third quarter which was capped off by a three-pointer from Kinley Brown and gave the Royals a 50-32 lead. During this run, the Koalas went more than four minutes without scoring a point
- Once again, the Royals came out firing to begin the fourth quarter. Nicole Gwynn hit an early three-pointer and the Royals hit two more buckets to begin the quarter on a 7-0 run giving them a 65-46 lead and forcing Columbia to take a timeout
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Royals scored 31 points off the bench thanks to Jordyn Weaver and Tameia Shaw.
- The Royals recorded 13 steals as a team, which is tied for their second-most on the season.
- Queens recorded 19 offensive rebounds which is one shy of their season-high they recorded against Wesleyan on Nov. 26.
UP NEXT
The Royals return to action in exactly one week as they travel to Virginia to take on Radford next Sunday, Dec. 17 at 2:00 PM. Last season, the Royals fell to the Highlanders 73-57 in Charlotte and will hope to even the all-time series.
