CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's rugby team split their doubleheader series against Penn State on Saturday afternoon at Dickson Field. The varsity squad picked up a critical 27-10 victory after falling to the Nittany Lions in the Collegiate Rugby Championships Semifinals last season.

In the first matchup, the Royals dominated the Nittany Lions by a final score of 27-10. The game was close in the first half with the Royals leading 12-10. However, Queens would break away in the second half scoring 15 unanswered points to lock in the win.

Hilton Olivier led the team in conversions with two and Tom Keay,
Bradley Kenyon, and
Chester Stanyon each led the team in tries. Tom Keay also had a drop goal.

The second game was a different story as the Penn State junior varsity team was able to come back and beat the Royals junior varsity 22-20.

The Royals will travel to West Point, N.Y. for a doubleheader against Army. The match will start at 6:00 PM.
