SUMTER, N.C. - The top-seeded Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team (13-4) opened postseason play with a convincing 4-0 sweep over eighth-seeded Limestone University in the SAC Men's Tennis Championship Quarterfinals at the Palmetto Tennis Center on Thursday morning. The Royals advance to face No. 5 seeded Tusculum tomorrow, April 22 at 9:00 a.m. for a spot in the conference finals. The Pioneers defeated No. 4 Lenoir-Rhyne this morning.
 
Doubles play saw the Queens' duo of Edoardo Bottino and Laurenz Blickwede win 6-0 in the first flight followed by a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles by Berk Enc and Yoan Roussinov to secure the early advantage for the Royals. Edoardo Cecere and Win Steveker held a 5-4 lead before going unfinished due to the Royals claiming the doubles point.
 
In singles play, the Royals secured the match win with three straight victories. Edoardo Bottino was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at No. 1 for Queens, while Edoardo Cecere won 6-1, 6-0 and Win Steveker dominated 6-4, 6-4. Berk Enc and Laurenz Blickwede both held a lead in their No. 4 and No. 5 singles matches before the Royals claimed the match 4-0.
 
Queens will now quickly turnaround and prepare to face Tusculum at 9:00 a.m. in the semifinals match. On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 Anderson and No. 3 Wingate will square off for a spot in the championship.
