No. 1 Queens Remains Unbeaten with Win over Saints

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The top-ranked Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team remains unbeaten following a 24-2 win over No. 23 Limestone University this afternoon at Dickson Field. The win moves the Royals to 14-0 on the year and 8-0 in South Atlantic Conference play while the Saints fall to 10-4 on the year and 6-2 in league action.
 
Rebecca Kinsley led the Royals matching the single-game goals record with seven on the day. She also had two assists to total a season-high nine points and was celebrated for having crossed the century mark in points in her career. Kyleigh Masteran followed with seven points on four goals and three assists and was also celebrated today for crossing the double century mark in career points. Shannon Kingston and Kaitlyn Hardin contributed four goals each while Carson Giordano dished out four assists. Shannon Donavan added two goals and three assists for five points.
 
The Royals dominated play from beginning to end today building a 17-0 lead before allowing the Saints to get on the board with less than four minutes to play in the third. Limestone's back-to-back scores would be their only goals of the game as Queens reeled off seven unanswered goals in the fourth capped by a behind-the-back shot from Kinsley
 
In goal, Sharn Muffett collected her fourth win of the year after totaling six saves. As a team, the Royals totaled 13 caused turnovers with Grace Guglielmo's three leading the way.
 
Queens outshot the Saints, 37-12, to put 31 shots on goal. The Royals also totaled 25 ground balls to Limestone's 16 and won the battle at the draw, 17-11. Kingston, Masteran, and Muffett each totaled four ground balls to lead the Royals while Kingston, Guglielmo, and Sydney Bracken led in draw controls with four apiece.
 
Queens will be on the road at UVA Wise on Saturday, Apr. 16. The game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
