COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's rugby team sent two teams to the University of South Carolina's round robin 7's tournament. Queens' varsity team finished the day 2-0 while its junior varsity went 2-1 to cap a successful road trip.

Maddie Hughes and
Jay Stone each scored two tries to lead the team while
Lea Preuss and
Kamia Kruse scored one try. Hughes led the team with two conversions followed by Kruse and Stone who each scored one.

Tatiana Price each scored tries while
Shelby Tippin added a try and a conversion to secure the win.

Stone and Ceci Calhoun paved the way scoring two tries each. Kruse,Â
Chase Mauerhan, and Allie English each added a try of their own. Stone, Mauerhan, and Hughes all scored conversions to secure the decisive win.
Queens JV (Rex) 14 South Carolina 7
Jessica Sambor and La'tya Coleman led the team with tries. Sambor and Gozlan each added conversions.
Queens Varsity finished the day with two decisive victories. The Royals JV team won two of three to conclude a successful round robin tournament.
The Royals will return home for the Queens Cup 7's on Saturday, April 9th.
