CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's rugby team completed their doubleheader sweep over Virginia Tech on Friday night at the Queens Sports Complex. The Queens JV squad dominated the Hokies 50-0 in the opener before the No. 8 Royals varsity team cruised past Virginia Tech 40-7 in the nightcap.
In the JV game,
Conner Sandberg led the Royals with a pair of tries.
Mark Bazarian,
Cullen Cunningham,
Noah Paskins,
Brandon Hill,
Matthew Berry all added a try.
Cullen Cunningham would add three conversions while
Conner Sandberg added one conversion.
Looking to extend their winning streak to four straight, Queens jumped on the Hokies in the varsity match and rolled to a shutout victory. Prince led Queens with a pair of tries while Martin, JC, Chester, and Trevion added a try.
Tom Scott added five successful conversions.
Queens will conclude the regular season next Saturday, Nov. 12 when they welcome Mount St. Mary's to the Queen City. Prior to the games, the Royals will honor their senior class on the field.
