MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team (3-1) is set to face Morgan State (3-3) on Sunday evening in the Rose Hall Division Championship Game at the 2022 Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic. Tipoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. from the Montego Bay Convention Center and fans can catch the action live on HBCUGO.

In the opener of the Jamaica Classic, the Royals used a strong second half performance to dominate the Green Bay Phoenix. Queens outscored Green Bay 47-30 in the second half as
Kenny Dye led the charge with a game-high 23 points.
Kalib Mathews continued to provide valuable minutes off the bench scoring a career-high 15 points on a 5-for-6 shooting performance. History was made on Friday as
Gavin Rains grabbed his 600
th career rebound while
Jay'Den Turner hauled in his 500
th career board.

Game Notes
QUEENS UNIVERSITY OF CHARLOTTE (3-1 overall; 0-0 ASUN)
- Queens enters Sunday evening averaging 80.8 points per game on 47-percent shooting from the field and 33-percent from behind the arc. In the last two seasons, Queens is 26-0 when they reached the 80-point threshold.
- The Royals defense is allowing 71.0 points per game on 42-percent shooting from the field and 31-percent from behind the arc.
- Senior Kenny Dye is the leader of the veteran Royals squad. Dye is averaging a team-high 19.5 points per game while hauling in 4.8 boards and dishing out 5.5 assists per game. The Royals are 98-21 when Dye is in the starting lineup. Across the ASUN, Dye is second in points per game and assists per game.
- Junior Gavin Rains has been a force on the block for the Royals to open the season. The Trinity, N.C. native is averaging 7.8 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. The forward leads the ASUN in rebounds per game and sits fourth in field goal percentage. In his career, Rains has 16 double-doubles.
- BJ McLaurin and Kalib Mathews have been two key bench pieces for the Royals so far this season. McLaurin is averaging 8.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game across 18.3 minutes per game. Mathews is averaging 25.0 minutes and scoring 7.8 points per game on 61-percent shooting from the field. The sophomore is coming off a career-high 15 points against the Phoenix.
- Queens returns 72-percent of their scoring offense from a season ago which won 32 games and reached the NCAA Sweet 16.
- The Royals are outrebounding opponents this season 170-131. Through four games, Queens is first in the ASUN in rebounds per game with 42.5 and third in the league in offensive boards per game with 13.8.
- Queens has finished with a winning record for the last 12 seasons dating back to 2009-10.
- Queens opened the year 2-0 for the 18th time in program history. The Royals are averaging 22 wins in seasons which they begin 2-0.
MORGAN STATE BEARS (3-3 overall; 0-0 MEAC)
- Morgan State enters Sunday night after taking down Utah Valley in overtime 73-72 in the opener of the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic. The win snapped a two-game losing skid after the Bears fell at VCU and Akron.
- Preseason Second Team All-Conference recipient Malik Miller returns to lead the Bears. This season, the senior is averaging 14.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. In the victory over Utah Valley, Miller posted a 20 point and 10 rebound double-double marking his third of the season.
- Senior guard Isaiah Burke leads the team averaging 14.2 points per game on a 42-percent shooting clip from behind the arc.
- Morgan State was picked to finish fourth in the MEAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
- Kevin Broadus leads the Bears in his fourth season and has a career record of 45-42. Last season, Morgan State finished 13-15 and made an appearance in the MEAC Tournament Semifinals.
