Royals Shutout Seahawks on Tuesday Night Behind Incredible Team Effort

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team (2-9 overall, 0-4 ASUN) picked up a dominant 2-0 shutout victory over the UNC Wilmington Seahawks (4-3-4 overall, 3-1-2 CAA) on Tuesday night. The victory marks the Royals second shutout this season as they took down a Seahawks squad that was ranked No. 9 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region rankings.

Turning Point
For the third time this season, the Royals struck first in the scoring column. Graduate student Louis Goldsack struck gold in the 23rd minute to give Queens an early advantage. After leading the entire match, the Royals received a late insurance goal off the boot of freshman Jamahl Brown in the 87th minute to secure the victory.

The Royals will return home for an ASUN match on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 6:00 p.m. Prior to kick off, Queens will recognize their senior class with a ceremony on the field beginning at approximately 6:45 p.m. Fans can secure their tickets in advance by visiting the Queens Athletics website.
