CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team (1-1-1, 0-0-1 SAC) opened South Atlantic Conference play against the Wingate University Bulldogs (2-2-1, 0-0-1 SAC) Wednesday night, playing to a 3-3 tie.

The Bulldogs would be first on the board with Devin Scully scoring in the 25th minute. Mikkel Fahlen Brunn would then find the back of the net for Wingate, creating a 2-0 lead against the Royals. It seemed Wingate would take the 2-0 advantage into intermission but

rd. However, Queens' leading goal scorer
Felipe Mendonca answered for the Royals with a goal in the 72
nd minute. Mendonca then scored the equalizer to force overtime in the 83
rd minute on a header.
Â
Both overtime periods saw just a combined total of three shots as neither team found the golden goal and the game ended in a 3-3 draw.
Â
