CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's triathlon teams competed in the semester-long "Dean's List Collegiate Challenge" competition for Spring 2021.
The Dean's List Spring swim/run was a virtual "time-trial" format challenge created by Cal-Berkley coach, Dean Harper.
The challenge was initiated in response to the collegiate difficulties that the in-person venue and group competitions created during the pandemic.
The Royals beat out both UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Colorado, Westpoint, and several others to take the Collegiate Club team victory:

Coach Sonni Dyer added, "We were very grateful for the ability to re-start TRI discipline competitions--even doing team-time trials and submitting times--as intercollegiate sports gets back to business nationally. I'd personally like to thank Dean Harper of Cal-Berkley and his team's efforts in hosting this competition. While it doesn't replace a National Championships experience, it's a step in the right direction to a competitive re-start."
The Queens Triathlon program finished the Spring21 semester undefeated for all 3 squads in 7 total outings between the Men's team, Women's Long-course squad, and the NCAA Short-course/draft-legal squad.
