CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After being seeded second in the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Field Hockey Championship, the Queens University of Charlotte Royals are scheduled to host the University of Mount Olive on Tuesday, March 30 at Bessant Field.
The Royals finished the regular season with a 4-2 record having only lost to Belmont Abbey and Limestone while the Trojans enter the championship tournament with an 0-6 record.
Queens faced the Trojans last week defeating them 8-0 on the road.
Gabe Lechner and
Jill Sherman led the Royals with two goals each while
Millie Eaton-Jones,
Maya Forbes,
Ava Moser, and
Erin O'Reilly added one goal each.
Lechner leads Queens this season with 14 points on six goals and two assists. Sherman has eight points on four goals and
Millie Eaton-Jones has five on one goal and three assists. Additionally,
Maya Forbes has two goals for four points.
Kaylin Holdeman and Yi McKenzie each have one goal this season for Mount Olive.
The Royals lead the all-time series, 3-0, and have only allowed the Trojans to score two goals.
Tuesday's game will take place at 2 p.m. The winner will advance to Friday's semifinal round which will also be hosted at Bessant Field along with Saturday's final.
