Queens Falls to Limestone in Overtime

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team (2-2, 2-2 SAC) suffered an overtime loss this evening in their match with Limestone University (2-2-1, 2-2 SAC).

After a goal from junior forward Louis Goldsack scored in the game's second minute put Queens on top early, Josiah Ortiz of Limestone would have an answer in the 11th to tie the game, 1-1.

A foul inside the box in the 35th minute would result in Keegan Burton scoring off a penalty kick and putting the Royals back in front, 2-1, before heading into intermission.

Burton then scored his second goal of the night in the 55th minute to give the Royals a 3-1 lead. However, Limestone quickly responded with a goal in the 56th to make it a one-goal game again.

It seemed as if the Royals were on their way to pulling out the win, but Tristyn de Laaf of the Saints found the equalizer in the 88th to force overtime.

Limestone's Alex Pais Caamano then scored tonight's golden goal in the 98th minute.

The Royals will be back in action Thursday, March 25 hosting Newberry on Senior Night. The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
