PHILIPPI, W.Va. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's rugby team (2-0) defeated West Chester in 15's competition, 24-12, to finish the weekend undefeated.
In their second of two Saturday matches, the Royals sprinted to a 24-0 run to overcome an early deficit and advance to 2-0.
Alle English scored on four conversions and one try to lead the Royals' offensive attack.
Angelica Rodriguez and
Abby Tobias each scored one try as Queens pulled away from the Golden Rams.
Earlier in the day, Queens played a 7s match against Alderson Broaddus winning 29-14. Tries were scored by
Rachel Holloway,
Jessica Gozlan (2),
Haliegh Golden, and
Sienna Phillips.
Queens completes the weekend 2-0 and returns to Charlotte for next weekend's home opener on March 27.
