CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The No. 13 Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team rebounded from a midweek loss to collect a 6-1 win over Anderson University on Sunday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action from the Howard Levine Tennis Center.
 
With the first point of the day on the line in doubles action, the duo of Paolo Bompieri/Kasper Rolfsen clinched the point with a tie break win at No. 1 by a score of 7-6 (10-3). The tandem of Edoardo Bottino/Edoardo Cecere also won their doubles match 6-2 in the second flight.
 
In singles play, Jan Malmon began with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6 followed by a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3 from Cecere. Rolfsen clinched the match decision with a singles triumph at No. 5, winning 7-6 (10-3), 6-3. Bompieri (4-6, 6-1, 6-2) and Bottino (7-6 (10-2), 6-4) finished off the match with wins for the Royals.
 
"This was a solid overall effort from the guys," said Head Tennis Coach Billy Boykin. "We fought through some adversity at different points during the match and dialed in on the big points. I think we are improving with each outing.
 
Queens returns to the road for its next match against Catawba College on Wednesday, March 17 at 2 p.m. in Salisbury, N.C.
