CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The No. 12/16 Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team opens a three-game homestand on Monday night, welcoming the Trojans of Anderson University (S.C.) to Charlotte. Tip-off from Curry Arena is scheduled for 8 p.m. on the Queens Sports Network.
Monday marks the 43rd all-time meeting between Queens and Anderson with the Royals holding a 32-10 advantage in the overall series. Queens is 9-1 overall in the last 10 matchups, however, the Trojans tallied an 86-82 victory in the most recent contest on Jan. 29, 2020 in Anderson, S.C.
Queens Athletics is not allowing spectators at any event inside of the Levine Center in accordance with CDC guidelines and the most recent mandate from Mecklenburg County. IN THE BACKCOURT
-The Royals start a trio of juniors

Kelyn Pennie and
Malcolm Stevenson in the backcourt. Dye, a SAC Preseason All-Conference selection, averages 12.2 points per game and ranks second in the South Atlantic Conference with 5.2 assist per contest. Pennie chips in 10.1 points per game and is 36-for-84 from deep (42.9%) on the season.
-Stevenson made his return to the court last week from a six-game absence and registered 12 points with a career-high nine rebounds against Lincoln Memorial University. Stevenson is second on the team with 12.5 points per game and has score in double figures five times this season.
-Anderson sophomore Crosby James II is the team's leading scorer at 12.5 points per game, shooting 38.7 percent from deep. Redshirt-junior Kai Rivers, a transfer from the JuCo ranks, averages 9.9 points per contest and had a career-high 22 points in the team's most recent outing against UVA Wise on Saturday.

Jamari Smith has returned to the court after missing the first six games of the year and is leading the team with 15 points per game while shooting 46.4 percent from the floor and 40 percent from 3-point range. Sophomore
Gavin Rains controls the paint with a League-high 9.2 rebounds per game, including 3.9 rebounds on the offensive glass, to go along with 11.6 points per game.
-Senior forward Josh Livingston is second on the team with 10.1 points per game, shooting a team-high 51.7 percent from the floor and 50 percent from long range to go along with 4.9 rebounds per contest.
ON THE SIDELINES

Bart Lundy is in his 19
th season overall and 13
th season at Queens. During his career with the Royals, Lundy is the program's winningest coach with a 296-97 (.753) record and has a 392-184 (.681) career coaching record at Queens and NCAA Division I High Point University. During his reign, Queens has won five conference championships (three Conference Carolinas, two South Atlantic Conference), four Southeast Region Championships and has made seven appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
-Jeff Brookman is in his sixth season in charge of the Trojans and has a 66-86 (.434) career record. Brookman has additional head coaching experience in the junior college ranks, spending five seasons at Spartanburg Methodist College where he was 120-42 overall.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

The Royals are 9-4 overall with an 8-3 record in SAC play. Queens ranks among the NCAA Top 25 in scoring defense as opponents are scoring just 67 points per game on 40.5 percent shooting from the floor. The Royals force nearly 15 turnovers per contest and score 16.2 points per game off of those miscues.
-Offensively, the Royals score 76.3 points per game and have scored 85 or more points five times this season. Queens is shooting 46.5 percent from the floor and 38.6 percent from 3-point range as a team while holding a plus-nine margin in rebounds per game.
-Last time out, Queens suffered a 77-63 road loss to No. 2/4 Lincoln Memorial University on Wednesday night. The Royals held LMU to nearly 20 points below their season average, but LMU hit 15 total 3-pointers, including 10 in the second half. Smith led all scorers with 22 points, going a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point range, to go along with eight rebounds
-The Trojans are 3-5 overall with an identical 3-5 mark in SAC play after picking up an 88-80 win over UVA Wise on Saturday afternoon. Five players reach double figures in the victory as Anderson shot 50.8 percent from the floor and held a 40-31 advantage in total rebounds.
-Anderson ranks near the bottom of the League in scoring with 72.3 points per game, but hold opponents to 77.6 points per game on the defensive end as four of the team's eight games have been decided by eight points or less.
