Charlotte, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team (1-9, 1-8 SAC) was back home at Curry Arena playing against Lincoln Memorial University (7-7, 6-7 SAC) this evening, falling 96-49.
Amari Davis led the Royals with a career-high 18 points and nine rebounds.
Kalaya Hall finished with nine points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
Lauren Fields added six points and two blocks and Tia
McMillian totaled six points.
Queens' Hall scored the first bucket of tonight's game to give the Royals their only lead of the night early before a 15-2 run by the
Railsplitters in the opening period helped them take a 33-8 lead into the second quarter. Lincoln Memorial connected on 8-of-10 threes during the period.
Queens continued to struggle on the offensive end in the second quarter as Lincoln Memorial finished the half in front, 58-21, after shooting 66.67 percent from deep.
In the third, Lincoln Memorial continued its hot shooting, increasing the margin to 44, 80-36, by the end of the period. The
Railsplitters then maintained their lead in the fourth to collect the 96-49 road win.
Mikayla Kuehne scored 25 points, shooting 60 percent from three, and grabbed eight rebounds. Jordan
Maney had 25 points and five rebounds. The
Railsplitters finished the game shooting 57.6 percent from behind the three-point line.
The Royals will travel to Carson-Newman University (9-1, 9-1 SAC) Saturday, February 6.
