CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The No. 17/18 Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team opens postseason play on the heels of a five-game winning streak to close out the 2020-21 regular season. Queens, the top overall seed in the 2021 SAC Pilot Flying J Men's Basketball Championship, will host eighth-seeded Anderson University (S.C.) on Monday night. Tip-off from Curry Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. on the Queens Sports Network.
Monday marks the 45th all-time meeting between Queens and Anderson with the Royals holding a 34-10 advantage in the overall series. Queens is 9-1 overall in the last 10 matchups, including winning the home-and-home series during the 2020-21 regular season.
For all games played at Curry Arena, Queens will be allowing two family members for each student-athlete. Only individuals whose names are on the player/guest pass list will be admitted. At this time, Queens will continue with a no spectator policy for the Howard Levine Tennis Center. No fans or parents from visiting teams will be permitted at Queens home events until further notice.
Following COVID safety protocols, temperature screenings will be done prior to entry. Additionally, social distancing and face coverings are required.
No concessions will be offered, and no food will be permitted within Queens Athletics facilities. Gates will open 45 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled event.

Kenny Dye runs the Queens offense, averaging a SAC-high 5.7 assists per game to go along with 12.5 points per contest on 41.8 percent shooting from deep. Redshirt-freshman guard
AJ McKee has been on a tear of late, averaging 18.8 points, 4,3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game over the last four contests while shooting 41.9 percent from three-point range.

Quan McCluney has been inserted into the starting lineup for the last three games and is averaging 11.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest while making nearly 40 percent of his 3-point attempts.
-Anderson sophomore Crosby James II is the team's leading scorer at 14.7 points per game, shooting 36.6 percent from deep. Redshirt-junior Kai Rivers, a transfer from the JuCo ranks, averages 11.2 points per contest and has scored in double figures in 10 of the team's last 11 games.

Jamari Smith has returned to the court after missing the first six games of the year and is leading the team with 15.8 points per game while shooting 51.1 percent from the floor. Sophomore
Gavin Rains controls the paint, ranking second in the SAC with 8.9 rebounds per game, including 3.8 rebounds per game on the offensive glass, to go along with 11.4 points per game.
-Combo guard/forward Jalen Hillary is second on the team with 12.5 points per game and is averaging 19.8 poits per contest over the last five games.

Bart Lundy is in his 19
th season overall and 13
th season at Queens. During his career with the Royals, Lundy is the program's winningest coach with a 301-97 (.754) record and has a 397-184 (.682) career coaching record at Queens and NCAA Division I High Point University. During his reign, Queens has won five conference championships (three Conference Carolinas, two South Atlantic Conference), four Southeast Region Championships and has made seven appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
-Jeff Brookman is in his sixth season in charge of the Trojans and has a 70-92 (.432) career record. Brookman has additional head coaching experience in the junior college ranks, spending five seasons at Spartanburg Methodist College where he was 120-42 overall.

The Royals are 14-4 overall with a 13-3 record in SAC play. Queens ranks among the NCAA Top 30 in scoring defense as opponents are scoring just 67.7 points per game on 40.6 percent shooting from the floor. The Royals force 15.2 turnovers per contest and score 17.3 points per game off of those miscues.
-Offensively, the Royals score 79.6 points per game and have scored 85 or more points eight times this season. Queens is shooting 47.5 percent from the floor and 38.6 percent from 3-point range as a team while holding a plus-nine margin in rebounds per game.
-Last time out, Queens collected a 75-56 win over Coker University in the team's regular season finale. Smith led the Royals with 14 points in just 18 minutes after getting into foul trouble, while Dye finished with 13 points, six assists, and four steals. Rains secured his fifth double-double of the season, tallying 11 points and a season-high 16 rebounds.
- The Trojans are 7-11 overall with a 6-11 mark in SAC play after erasing a 10-point halftime to rally past ninth-seeded Coker, 71-61, in the first-round of the 2021 SAC Pilot Flying J Basketball Championship on Saturday afternoon. Senior guard Quin Nottingham came off the bench to lead a balanced offensive attack with 14 points in just 17 minutes of action, while going 4-of-6 from the field. James II added 13 points, while sophomore forward Mack Burgett netted 11 points off the bench, while going a perfect 5-of-5 from the field.
-Anderson ranks near the bottom of the League in scoring with 75.1 points per game but holds opponents to 75.4 points per game on the defensive end as 10 of the team's 18 games have been decided by eight points or less.
