NATIONAL POLLS
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After collecting five straight wins to end the 2020-21 regular season, the Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team continues to climb in the national rankings. The Royals moved up two spots in the NABC Coaches Poll to No. 17 overall and rose four spots in the D2SIDA Media Poll to No. 18 overall.
The Royals have been ranked in 92 of the last 94 national polls dating back to the 2015-16 season, including every poll during the 2020-21 campaign. Queens' rise in this week's rankings comes on the heels of a five-game winning streak to close out the season, most recently defeating Coker University 75-56 in the regular season final on Monday
During the current winning streak, the Royals 88.2 points per game and have won by an average of 18.8 points per game. Additionally, Queens has locked up the No. 1 overall in the upcoming 2021 South Atlantic Conference Pilot Flying J Men's Basketball Championships and have earned a first round by as a result of a 13-3 (.812) conference record.
Queens, owners of a 14-4 overall record, will host a Quarterfinal matchup on Monday, March 1 at 7 p.m. in Charlotte with the opponent still to be determined on the Queens Sports Network.
